In short

Klugschnacker works without an account, without tracking and without ads. It stores only what the game needs, for as short a time as possible.

This website

The website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services. Fonts are served from this server. The server logs technically necessary data (IP address, time, page requested, browser identifier) for secure operation and deletes it after 7 days (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany, under a data processing agreement.

The app

Sign-in

There is no registration. If Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android) is set up, the server receives a player ID from there. Otherwise the app creates a random device ID. It is used to assign purchases and to recognise you in a running game. It is deleted when you choose “Delete my data” in the app or after 24 months of inactivity.

Games

For a game, the server stores the name you enter, the game state, votes and points. This data is deleted 12 hours after the last activity. In “Pass the phone” everything stays on your device.

Voice messages (over the radio)

Voice messages are sent to the server, made available only to players in the same game and deleted when the game ends at the latest. Reported messages are kept until reviewed, for no more than 30 days. The app only uses the microphone while you hold the record button.

Push notifications

For “over the radio” the app can send notifications. A push token is passed via the Expo Push Service (650 Industries, Inc., USA) to Apple or Google, based on standard contractual clauses. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.

Purchases

Purchases go through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. I receive no payment data. RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) is used to verify purchases and receives the player ID and purchase details, based on standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). An email to the address above is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
